Blend Information

57% Merlot 26% Cabernet Sauvignon 17% Syrah

In The Vineyard

The grapes for this blend originate from prime vineyard sites that have been planted with new clonally material. Most of the sites face southwest and do receive supplementary irrigation resulting in optimal ripeness, superbly concentrated flavours and ripe, supple tannins. A clay sub-soil retains essential moisture and the gravelly, granite derived, topsoil allows for effective drainage.

In The Cellar

This wine is a blend of: 57% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Syrah
The Merlot contributes softness and a melange of ripe red fruits that add to the lusciousness of the wine. The ripe Cabernet Sauvignon adds luscious ripe red and black fruit flavours with some structure. The Shiraz adds a touch of spiciness and complexity, especially in the elegant finish of this approachable wine. Aged this blend in 3rd and 4th fill French barrels to add to the complexity and softness. A 30% unwooded portion was blended for more upfront fruit. These components contribute spicy vanilla notes and wonderful cedar wood complexities on the nose and palate in combination with red berry fruit flavours.
