Characteristics

Tasting Notes

The wine has an attractive bright yellow colour with some subtle freshly cut grass aromas. The palate is full bodied in style with a rich creamy lemon mouthfeel. The wine also exhibits a unique herbaceousness which combined with the lemon flavours contributed to a long finish.

Ageing Potential

This wine is drinking well now and will continue to improve in the bottle for 12-18 months.

Blend Information

Sauvignon Blanc

In The Vineyard

The grapes were cultivated in the cool, high altitude vineyards on the north-east slopes of the Jonkershoek mountains overlooking the Groot Drakenstein valley.

About The Harvest

Grapes were picked in the early morning to preserve the delicate flavours.

In The Cellar

Three hours skin contact was applied to the grapes before the juice was separated. The wine was made reductively to further preserve the intense tropical fruit flavours.
